Keith Haring Zentangles

My Art 1 students completed these Keith Haring inspired zentangles.  They had to tell a story without using words.  This first one says, "I love you.".

This artwork is about the government shutdown.

This artwork is about a torn relationship.

Leaves, leaves, and more leaves!

Our stamped leaf trees were created by kindergarteners.

Here are a couple of chalk pastel leaf projects from my fourth graders.

These glitter leaves projects were created by 3rd graders.  They took forever to make, but I love how they turned out.

Fifth graders made these outlined leaves.

Costumed Person

This costumed person project was completed by my advanced art students.  I gave them the option of colored pencils, chalk pastels, or charcoal pencils.  They could draw almost anyone, the person just had to have some sort of "costume".  I love when my students produce such a variety of different artworks with the same theme.

This one is an old Halloween costume.

You are what you eat!

My eight graders created self portraits with the theme "You are what you eat!".  I have them right before lunch and day after day our stomachs would growl while working on these projects!

Ice Cream Cone Collages

My 8th graders made these ice cream cone collages for the art show.  We currently have them framed and in the library on display until the day of the art show.  I'm hoping the local ice cream shop will want to purchase a few to be displayed uptown for the community to view.

Mummies

These mummies were a great way to use up scrap paper strips!  It took my first graders just one day to complete this project.

Jack-o-Lanterns

My second grade created these jack-o-lanters back in October.  It was so fun to watch them come together!  Believe it or not some of the jack-o-lanterns even looked like self portraits!
