Here is our collection of bottle caps.
We are still collecting in this bucket outside of my classroom.
The adhesive is purchased, 34 tubes to be exact.
The original sketch.
The final drawing colored according to what colors we have the most of.
The boards have been primed and are ready for me to sketch out the mural. It should be ready to go in about a week. Wish me luck!
Funny, I was just in your old school today for inservice and asked the new art teacher how you adhered all those bottle caps on the mural you did there. He wasn't sure and here you are putting photos on today! BTW, the mural is more beautiful in person! I have been saving caps for 2 years- almost ready to take the plunge. :-)

ReplyDeleteI bet I will have questions!!
ReplyDeleteI'll let you know. :-)
It looks as if you have done this before. I'm just starting to collect and it's going well so far. I expect to make something with the caps next year. I appreciate your post.

Do you know if that particular adhesive or liquid nails would work outdoors? I want to make a plastic lid mural on a cinder block wall and I want to ad our using plywood and screws.
ReplyDeleteWhat are your boards made from? wood or foam core?
